Epson Professional 8-Color Printers
For years, we have made ink and software for Epson Printers and have seen the steady growth of the quality of their print heads. This series of printers as shown above, offer a slightly finer dot pattern with greatly higher print speed. Running these printers through Symphonic Evolution Rip at 1440 x 1440 with Symphonic UltraMax II Giclée Inks results in smooth gradation, fine detail, and brilliant rich color. We do not sell Epson printers; however, we support and can help you maintain them. We still marvel at the quality of the 7600/9600 series, which when used with our UltraMax II Series Inks, results in an almost indistinguishable image as compared to their new line of printers. The 4000/4800/4880 all offer equally superior results.
You can set up all the Epson 8-color printers in several ways:
1: With two blacks, Gloss and Matte with Lt Black.
2: With One Black, Lt Black, and Lt Lt Black.
3: With One Black, Lt Black, and Lime Green
4: With multiple colors for fabric printing
Epson would have you believe that only their ink works well in these printers; however, we are running photographic pigment, fabric dye, and pigment inks in them with great success. There are many different approaches to the science of inkjet ink. While Epson's K-3 ink produces a higher gloss than their Ultrachrome 9600 series, K-3 on certain materials tend to crack. Gloss diferential is not completely illiminated on all media.
There is a unique project that Terry Schopper is working on which he reports that only Symphonic inks offer the richness and allows for the perfect 3-D formation of the structure.
The results with Symphonic Inks are stunning. We have set up one of our Epson 9800 printers with a 5-color Symphony Ink set using Lime Green. The results are absolutely brilliant. The value of Epson printers over Canon and HP is more than just quality. It is that they offer versatility in ink setup, the ability to modify, maintain, and repair these printers yourself. We are working on a modification to allow for easy Black Ink change over. Soon as it is completed, we will show you images of the modification.
Epson's variable dot technology offers the ability to obtain high density color values where needed and smooth dot pattern in the highlights and middle tones. Customers have told us that while there are aspects to Canon printer they like, they get richer Matte, Fine Art, Vinyl, and Canvas prints with their Epson.
