Epson 7800/9800/7880/9880 Head Repalcement
The below information is part of series of information to help you maintain your own printer. If you need further help you can contact us directly. If you have any information to add to our guides, please contact us we would greatly appreciate any added valuable information. First unplug the printer. Remove the cove as shown below so you can move the head in the middle of the printer and work comfortably.
Move the carriage out to the middle of the printer and place a 81/2 x 11 inch sheet of pape to catch the screws that may fall.
To remove the head, follow the next set of steps. Remove the following screws as shown below.
Now Remove the two screws from the metal tension bar and carefully remove the screw from the grounding bracket. Below the diagram shows youhow to remove the carriage.
When removing or replacing the head be careful not to bend the cable.
When placing the print head cable into the the slot, be very careful not to bend the cable and short out the head. It just takes a little care.
When replacing the head, reverse the opperation.
